United’s manager Louis Van Gaal is increasingly under pressure, worsened by a home loss to Southampton yesterday.

Mourinho is capitalizing on Van Gaal’s struggles to lobby for the United job, a post he was largely expected to land after the exit of Sir Alex Ferguson.

Mourinho’s controversial nature and defensive minded football meant David Moyes received the nod instead.
